Descripción del Tour:

Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotels in Puerto Iguazú and head towards San Ignacio, approximately 230 km away. Amidst the dense forest emerges the San Ignacio Reduction, the remnants of a civilization crafted by Jesuits and constructed by Guaraní hands. This settlement was renowned for its efficiency nearly 400 years ago, which ironically led to its demise. The temple's façade, crafted entirely from pink sandstone in 1610, embodies American baroque design and was reconstructed by scientists over the past century. The reduction remained hidden beneath the jungle for almost two centuries.

Attracting thousands of tourists annually, it is situated in the heart of San Ignacio, along route number 12, 60 kilometers from Posadas. The temple's right wall appears immaculate today, as a group of specialists restored it during summer. This was made possible by a $50,000 donation from the World Monuments Foundation, enabling the gradual restoration of all the monument's walls. Due to the region's tropical climate, the walls often become covered with small, decomposing microorganisms.

After exploring the culture and history of the San Ignacio Ruins, we will proceed to the Wanda Mines, established by Polish settlers in 1936.

Named after a Polish princess fond of gems, Wanda is a town located on the banks of the Paraná River. Here, visitors can find the entrance sign and artisans offering various stones. The mine offers visitors the opportunity to walk through, explore its caves, and even witness the precise moment when operators conduct explosions to continue drilling the basalt.

Before heading back, we will visit a local Yerbera. You can tour the facilities and sample local infusions. After the tour, you'll have a few minutes of free time to purchase souvenirs and regional sweets if you wish.

Then, after uncovering the hidden treasures of the Missionary Jungle, you will be transported back to your hotels in Puerto Iguazú at the end of the day.
